GEO 436 ISLAMABAD: Finance Advisor Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said approval of installment of loan from IMF reflects confidence on government policies. Finance Advisor said IMF has agreed to grant the loan in two installments instead of three after assurance of implementation of Value Added Tax (VAT) and increasing budget deficit. Finance Ministry sources told Geo News that a meeting between government and IMF representatives was held in Qatar on Friday. Finance Advisor Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Secretary Finance Salman Siddique attended the meeting and briefed IMF about the details of revenue collections and targets, monetary deficit and implementation of VAT.
